...about James K Brown
Born and raised in Soldotna, Alaska until a family move to Winterhaven, California and graduated high school at San Pasqual Valley High School on the Quechan Indian Reservation.
Moved to Tempe, Arizona to attend Collins College, a school of design and technology, and received Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication.
Returned home to Alaska and accepted a job at the Peninsula Clarion; then accepted part-time employment at the UPS Store in Soldotna. Continuously held down two jobs simultaneously for nearly six years- even after leaving the Clarion to begin a career with a local non-profit. Left Soldotna to pursue opportunities in Anchorage where I now work retail part time and work on contract with the Redoubt Reporter newspaper; and grow Brown Graphic Design the rest of the time.
Specializing in design and illustration using traditional technique and industry-current software -versed in both Mac and PC- and extensive knowledge of 4-color process printing. Contemporary style with a classic approach. |
